Erasmus+ Staff Training Week at METU
2025-04-07

The Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) hosted its traditional Erasmus+ Staff Training Week between 9-13 December 2024, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI). The aim of the event was to provide an opportunity for participants with the help of METU faculty members and external experts to jointly explore the impact of AI on higher education, the economy, and the arts. With the help of experts and educators, participants examined, from various perspectives, how AI could shape the future of education and research, as well as how it affects the economic and artistic sectors.
What made the event particularly special was the involvement of colleagues from METU's international partner institutions. Participants came from Bhutan, Japan, and Tanzania, enriching the program with intercultural exchanges and dialogues between different educational systems.
The event also offered cultural experiences alongside professional ones. Thanks to the festive Christmas atmosphere, the program was complemented by holiday flavors, museum visits, and the opportunity to explore Budapest, ensuring that participants not only benefited professionally but also culturally.
For METU, it is important to organize these events in the spirit of international collaboration and knowledge sharing. The next Erasmus+ Staff Training Week will take place in April 2025, with a focus on international mobility programs and the role of international offices.
