METU Graphic Design student’s work displayed at the 13 PLASTER festival

METU Graphic Design MA student Veronika Kovács’s work was selected to be displayed at the 13 Plaster International Graphic Design Festival.

Plaster International Graphic Design Festival  has been providing space and opportunity for designers for over a decade, showcasing works of outstanding artists from all over Europe. This year, the festival’s 13th edition has a unique character. In the wake of the situation in Ukraine, the theme of the event has been changed and dedicated to the fighting country. To show symbolic support for the stranded Ukrainian nation, the festival showcases works of designers from all over Europe in three exhibitions.

Veronika explained her artwork and her underlying thoughts as follows:

“My poster draws a parallel between building up countries and knitting patterns. It explores the similarities between the two: the difficulties of creation and the ease of breaking these creations down, leaving space for something new to be created.”

The artworks selected, including the work of Veronika, will be put on display in Torun, Poland.

“It is a real honour to be able to present my work for such a noble cause and for such a wide audience." - shared Veronika.

Congratulations to Veronika for her work and achievement!
