SHORT DESCRIPTION


Fashion and textile design is one of the most important areas of the creative industry, as we encounter it in every aspect of life. Through design, it creates products and works in which intellectual content becomes dominant and value-creating.

Our goal is to develop your creative personality, to help you become a conscious designer and creator, as finding your unique voice is crucial for a successful designer. We are convinced that there is a need for designers with artistic thinking who can interpret the challenges of the field and have an innovative impact on them.

SHORT DESCRIPTION


The mission of the Fashion and Textile Department is to train designers who are capable of solving high level design and creative processes in the fields of textile culture based on their education and creativity. Through their work, they contribute to the development of general object culture and to the enrichment of the Hungarian artistic life. Their works also have an impact on the international design market. Students are able to synthesize and apply these in addition to the knowledge of traditional, craft and modern computer technology. Their critical sensation and analytical ability make them able to navigate any area of design thinking. 


Structure of the Program:  


First year  


• experimental fashion and textile design through fine art and design 

• playing with creativity  

• different textile and pattern making experimentation  

• traditional and experimental textile and fashion design  

• fashion accessory design  

• problem-solving design process  

• individual fashion capsule collection design 

  1. Traditional and creative tailoring with OPTITEX software 

 

Second year  


• fashion and textile collection concept process development  

• professional project situation  

• interdisciplinary design thinking through different projects  

• diploma project

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS

1. Create a portfolio, which best represents your work:

Samples of your previous fashion and textile design works, Every form of fashion and textiles design is welcomed: pattern and structure design, fashion design, drawings of ideas, sketches or photos etc.

Every form of fashion and textile design all kinds of techniques are also welcome: drawings, sawings, or computer graphics, manual drawings, sketches, aquarelles, collages, paintings, works made by printmaking techniques, etc. The maximal number of the works in the portfolio is 25 pieces.

Handmade originals have to be scanned and combined with digital works in one single PDF portfolio.

Please name the file as: Your name_fashionandtextile_MA.pdf

2. A short Letter of Motivation in which the applicant informs us about his/her educational background and the reasons for choosing to study Fashion and Textile Design Masterclass at our institution.

3. A narrative Curriculum Vitae in which the applicant shows us his/her educational background and highlights the most important events of his/her life.

4. Please include a Statement that verifies that all the materials included in the portfolio were created by you alone and write a few words about the works in the portfolio.


Every written material should be sent in PDF format.
